Scholarships  &  Mission

We are pleased to announce that starting in the Spring of 2018 all players registered with a Showcase team in Monmouth or Middlesex sector will be earning scholarship money. Each year, your child will accrue scholarships from local sponsors, University's and even your very own school.  These gift grants can be used towards any college and universities throughout the US. This program is one of the many benefits that Showcase Soccer Teams offer its players so that they can build on their educational opportunities.  Your child will be part of one of the fastest growing soccer clubs in New Jersey, and will give them the access and tools to improve themselves as a player and student.

Showcase teams play MOSA -  EDP - Jags - Maps league.
League is confirmed when roster is completed prior to the start of the new season.

Mission Statement

Our Mission: College Soccer Showcase Teams  exists to provide the highest levels of quality soccer training for the players and to enhance their social, emotional and physical health in a positive and safe environment.

College Soccer Showcase Teams will strive to create and nurture a valuable soccer learning experience. To achieve this goal we will make every effort to insure that well-educated coaches develop the skills, fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship and to perpetuate these qualities at all levels of their players soccer growth. We will empower our players with a life-long passion and love for the game of soccer.  College Soccer Showcase Teams moving forward will encourage player bonding before, during and after events to ensure the focus as a team is empowering!

Our Philosophy: College Soccer Showcase Teams create and develop an environment where we teach a creative attacking and possession-style soccer built on a foundation of strong technical skills.  Building the player first then the team.

In adopting this style of soccer, We strive for an environment free from the “fear of failure”, where our players can explore and be creative without the fear of making mistakes.  We believe that such an environment, with no limitations on creativity is where our players can grow the most and realize their potential both as players and individuals on and off the field. The motivation to play attractive soccer must be greater than the fear of losing.

“I am more concerned if we don’t play good soccer than if we don’t win.”

– Guillermo Amor FC Barcelona Sporting Director

With this in mind, mistakes will be inevitable and games may be won or lost through players ‘trying things’ such as building up from the back.  However we never benchmark our players, teams, or coaches success purely on results, especially where players develop both physically and technically at much different rates.

In addition to developing technically and tactically sound players, we aim to develop our players both physically and psychologically. In terms of physical development, a strong emphasis will be placed on developing psycho-motor skills, which unfortunately have been on a rapid decline in today’s youth, due to the modern environment, whereby free play (playing at parks, unorganized sports etc) is fast becoming nonexistent.

To develop our players psychologically,  We aim to teach our players valuable lessons through competition and prepare them for the challenges they will face both on the field and in later life. While we stress that ‘winning is not always important,’ we also emphasize that ‘wanting to win’ IS important. Ultimately we are a competitive soccer club and will strive to win, BUT we always aim to do so in a manner that is consistent with our philosophy outlined above.
